The Video Garden Make-Over is Done!

I have been sitting here for twelve straight hours, re-doing the video area of our website, and while there are still a few finishing touches to do, the bulk of the update is done!

What has changed? Many things.
First of all the design is in line with the rest of the site. A lot of white space with the odd leaf around and about. We moved different things around to different places, which made looking at the site a little easier on the eyes. I’ve made some minor adjustments to a few things, perhaps you’ll notice, perhaps you won’t. However the bulk of it is done, yay!

Well, it is five in the AM so I am going to BED!

Your Voting Worked, Let’s Do it Again!

I got word today we won our preliminary round in the WeShow.com Awards! Indeed we were voted “Best Blooper Video”! Neato gang!

What happens next? Well, we now are onto the next round, where we are against ten other videos for “Best Comedy Video”, which is huge. If we win that, we move onto “Best Video” and then FuddyTV will be splashed all over their website along with an extensive interview and all sorts of other nice little things. We are extremely happy and proud just to have been nominated, but to have won is amazing! Who knew three kids from Canada could go where we’ve gone?

With that said, here’s a few musings from me….

We shot a rather odd, but funny bit called “Friends and Neighbors”. In a sort of Home & Garden meets Bob Villa sketch, I play Evan Terry, who is soft-spoken, geeky, and very welcoming to all of his friends and neighbors. Of course no skit would be complete without some sort of twist….enter Arthur Janikowski, the man who will help Evan get his garden up and running for the BBQing season….Oh, it’s a good one.

Dave is off to L.A. for a trip, which is nice for him. While Erik and I toil here in Calgary, he will be off in LaLaLand enjoying the hot weather, sun, surf and the 405. Which recalls a question I get asked all the time, having recently moved back to Canada from Los Angeles people always ask “Did you go to the beach everyday?”.

No.

In fact, I think in 2006 I went a total of 3 times. It’s like any other city, for instance people from NYC don’t frequent the Statue of Liberty, and here in Calgary the majestic Rocky Mountains are an hour away, yet I never go there either. I guess you take these kinds of things for granted when they are easily accessible. However in my defense, the beach was in no way, shape or form close to where I lived. Yes, on a perfect day it would only be a twenty minute drive, but take the 405 freeway during the day and your twenty minute trip is easily two hours.

So have fun Dave….go see a Droogs game ;)

Well, it’s bedtime…until tomorrow….

Thank you CityTV and Breakfast TV!

FuddyTV on CityTV BreakfastTV Calgary

Just got home from our day at CityTV here in Calgary and it was awesome, no other words to describe it.

We showed up at about 7:00am and met Glen(n?) who welcomed us as he organized the show. We were certainly nervous, maybe a little overwhelmed, but they made it so easy and relaxing for us when we arrived. It was really interesting how easy, fun, kooky and chill it was inside the studio. Everyone was super nice and very welcoming. So we sat down, drank some coffee, chatted with other people as Dave Kelly hosted just 10 feet away.

At 7:35am we were live, and all the jitters, nervousness, and turning stomachs were gone. I gotta say, Dave Kelly was amazing, he sat down with us and chatted before we went on and was really interested in what we were doing and what we had to say. I guess the interview went well, of course we can’t really tell since we didn’t see it, but we felt as though we did a pretty good job.

That segment ended and we got changed to do a live version of “Food Fight Party Moscow”….yup, I wore the black one-piece….and it was fantastic.

Poor Dave Hasyom, I felt bad for him, three different pies in the face….So in our Boris and Juri get up we performed the “Catch & Reverse” upon which we taught host Dave Kelly how to effectively perform it too. So with time to spare I was able to bring out our special occasion move, the “Siberian Windmill”. I can’t say it enough how comfortable we felt, how easy it was, yet how professional it all turned out to be.

As we’re leaving Judy Gabriel, who does “Your City”, asks if we would do an interview for her show! Uhhhh, yes! So we take a little break, come back to the studio and across the street we shoot separate interviews for all three of us and perform a special “Chuck Storm” take. Judy was an astounding interviewer, Dave and I mentioned this after we’d both been interviewed. It was almost as if we were simply talking to a friend about FuddyTV and our pasts. Really cool, really easy, really fun and very very nice….and Scott the cameraman was great!

So our humble thank you to everyone at CityTV Calgary, you made our first TV interview such an amazing experience….what more can I say….

FuddyTV Needs Your Help!

First off I want to thank everyone who has supported FuddyTV, without all of your help and support we wouldn’t have nearly as much fun.

The New FuddyTV.com!

Welcome to FuddyTV.com

If you’ve seen the main page and the rest of the website then you’ve already seen the exciting changes we’ve done at FuddyTV.com. If you haven’t, well, poke around!

Since we started FuddyTV, we wanted our website to be more of a community than anything else, and we think we may have achieved that now, of course there’s the whole issue of our videos which are the main features of our site. So we needed a video area that would truly reflect that. The problem is, when I started the site, I sort of did a quick, hammer it together type job. Just get it up and deal with it later. The video wasn’t perfect, there was no interactivity, just a static site.

Well it’s later. And we’re pretty happy.

The first and most important thing: We call it the “Video Garden”.

Now, not only can you watch the videos, but you can be a part of FuddyTV.

New Features at FuddyTV

It’s exciting, it’s interactive, it’s finally the FuddyTV.com we wanted!

Enjoy!
