About FuddyTV

FuddyTV Dave Haysom Erik Eldman Ryan NorthcottFuddyTV was created on a whim. David and Ryan were throwing the football around on a spring day, lamenting the lack of acting either of us had done. As we tossed back and forth, we wondered how great it would be if we could create our own entertainment, write it, direct it, act it and then show it to the world. We sighed, but the gears began to move and hit upon the idea that we could shoot our own skits, sketches and shorts put them up on the internet and fulfill the need to act while also having a ton of fun doing it.

Thus, FuddyTV was born.

Our first question was who was going to shoot and direct. We needed someone who 'got' our brand of humor, and also had the time to do it. More to the point we needed someone who had good vision and an excellent eye for what worked and what didn't. In came Erik Eldman. His keen eye, vision and patience is astounding and with his addtion we had the base for FuddyTV.

However, we neede a name. We sat around and threw out some ideas, but none of them were very good and wouldn't personalize it in our own special way. So we kept thinking and it donned on us that the first three characters on Dave's license plate were FUD and the cars nickname was Fuddy. We threw a TV behind it and voila, we had our name.

Our first few shoots were awkward at best as we tried to ge our stride. Never before seen skits include "Mommy! Wipe my bum", "I am Concerned" and "Word of the Day". They weren't our best, but it told us what we didn't want to do and that we needed to be a little more clever. Our first shoot however gave us Chuck Storm, Action News 5 reporter. A simple trick we'd been doing since high school. You walk past a pole or stationary object and with your hand hit the object and react violently as if you've run into it. That's it. Chuck Storm has now had over an estimated 10 MILLION views around the world.

So that's where we are now, making videos that we find amusing and hope that just for a moment you can laugh too. There's nothing more depressing than the monotony of all our lives, so we want to shake that up and bring a little fresh air into your day. And we'll keep going, because it's our passion, our love, and everything we've wanted to do...with a lot less money.

So who are we?

RYAN NORTHCOTT

Ryan Northcott has worked with such actors as Russell Crowe and Burt Reynolds in "Mystery, Alaska", but his biggest honor was acting along side Patrick Duffy in the Made for TV movie "Don't Look Behnd You". Nevermind that Crowe guy and the legend that is Burt Reynolds....Duffy takes the cake.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue acting following the filming of "Mystery, Alaska". For the next nine years he appeared on TV, theater and movies and had the honor to play "Carl Wilson" in the ABC Emmy Nominated Mini-Series "The Beach Boys: An American Family".

Currently Ryan has taken root back in Canada, and runs his own web design and development firm called Rustic Technologies. It is the creative and the imaginitive that inspire him. The mundane, the everyday and the routine of life are simply not his thing. So with Rustic Technologies, FuddyTV and his Blog he is constantly finding the creative outlets in life.

Some of his interests include hockey, music, movies, the internets, coffee, rain and surrounding himself with wonderful people.

ERIK ELDMAN

Erik Eldman was born the oldest of two boys in a small lake-side town in British Columbia in 1978.

When his parents bought him a video camera for Christmas, the then twelve-year-old Erik instantly grabbed the thing to start recording his own movies, which he made with his friends and brother. They were usually short, comedic and made with no money.

A few years later he took on action/adventure with a series of Indiana Jones inspired shorts called "Ray Jackson". His first step towards the more serious filmmaking came with an entry in a provincial film shorts contest. For this film, he used English dubbed kung-fu movies as his inspiration. Fortunately, the risky parody "Squatting Llama, Frightened Pig" won for best sound.

When Erik was 22, he embarked on a movie making-adventure that would change his life. "Immortal Requiem", a fantasy short took Erik and his friends across southern Alberta shooting in some of the most beautiful locations in the province. The project solidified his belief in the magic of movies. Over the next five years Erik continued to produce and direct short films and has just completed his first feature, "In Case".

His new commitment has brought Erik back full circle to comedic shorts with the creation of Fuddytv.com.
